Level 9 of 15

Number Peaks1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0

The number row is typed by stretching each finger two rows up from the home row and returning immediately. Each finger owns the numbers directly above its home keys — for example the left pointer types 4 and 5.

About this level

Numbers sit at the very top, the longest reach of all. The trick is to stretch from home and return instantly, without your whole hand drifting upward. Master this and dates, scores and prices stop slowing you down.

What you practise here

  • Left hand numbersLong reach! Stretch the finger, not the whole hand. Target: 14 words per minute at 88% accuracy.
  • Right hand numbersSame idea on the right. Your pinky covers 0. Target: 14 words per minute at 88% accuracy.
  • Numbers in sentencesMixing letters and numbers is the real skill. Keep the rhythm even. Target: 20 words per minute at 92% accuracy.
  • Number championDigits and words together, no peeking. Target: 22 words per minute at 93% accuracy.

How this level is scored

Every lesson awards up to three stars. One star is for finishing, two for finishing accurately, and three for accuracy at the level's pace — speed on its own never earns a star. Lessons in this level also wait for the correct key: a wrong press does not move the cursor on, so a child cannot practise the wrong finger movement. Words per minute is recorded but never shown to the child — it appears only on the parent and progress pages.
